To lead brave and authentic life
I inspire and support women and men in contacting their inner-selves and lead a brave and authentic life, achieving their goals and dreams. I did it myself and now
you can do it too!
I can inspire you to increase your inner power or help you become an extraordinary Horse Assisted facilitator (usually both of it - life and facilitating are intertwined:)
Deep psychological knowledge, international know-how and an original approach
My name is Agata Wiatrowska. I am a pioneer in Horse Assisted Education in Poland (I introduced this method in Poland in 2006). I've been trained by the best teachers in Horse Assisted Education. In my work I combine psychology, coaching, hipotherapy and leadership. Such a complex knowledge enables me to provide training in holistic development tailored to the needs of any person in the context of demands of the modern world and daily life. The purpose of the space we create is to increase personal freedom and self-awareness and deepen the understanding of one’s own surroundings and relationships resulting from it.
I provide horse-assisted development programs where horses are trainers. Together with my horses I create an innovative developmental space enabling the integration of thoughts, actions, emotions and attitudes. I work in the spirit of nonjudgmental presence, respect and confidence in participants and horses. Basing on the academic and empirical output of numerous fields of scientific study I apply various mental models, respecting past achievements at the same time. For 12 years I have assisted others in their development, reaching their potential, and realizing themselves in both spheres: private and professional.
Created out of passion
HorseSense was created out of a passion to support people in their development by introducing them to the undiscovered potential of horses as trainers and guides. It is the centre of horse assisted developmental programmes and the certified centre of the Horse Assisted Education facilitator trainings. Being a naturally-born facilitator, Agata Wiatrowska introduced Horse Assisted Education to Poland and the Central Europe and founded HorseSense. Her numerous qualifications include a licensed Horse Assisted Education facilitator, licensed partner of HorseDream, coach, and 2nd-degree coach of Grupa TROP. For several years she has been the Chairwoman of the Boards of Directors of the European Association for Horse Assisted Education (EAHAE). Agata teaches and supports facilitators in Poland and abroad. Based on many years of experience as the manager in PwC, she is a practitioner of leadership and integrated solutions, applying them both in professional and private life.
STABLE WITH BIO SPACE
Land of free horses
While cooperating with horses in order for them to become strong, healthy, independent creatures, it is recommended to optimize their everyday lifestyle. An optimal lifestyle is one that takes into consideration the needs of their species based on current knowledge as well as additional elements resulting from various interactions with horses.
Additionally, while conducting equine development programs, we have discovered how important is accommodation for people, so that participants can fully benefit from visiting our facility. Our experience, knowledge and inspiration merged into a concept that we call a stable with ‘biospace’. A stable with biospace is one that fulfills the needs of both horses and people. When a biospace is simply not possible, we try to compensate by paying closer attention to the horse’s well-being and by applying different rules that help us to ensure their well-being.
A biospace is a place where horses spend most of their time, requiring a dry, porous surface that won’t turn muddy aftres getting wet. The space should be large enough to allow for running and playing and for providing ample room for each horse.
In addition to an open stable with a biospace there is a feeding rack providing constant access to hay, drinking water, trees and structures (that cast shadows), salt licks, a place to scratch (especially if there are no natural aids in the form of trees), a place to roll, and a pond (for regulating body temperature and soaking hooves). As for a utility area, a space is needed for serving concentrated feed, for grooming horses and trimming hooves, for storing manure, tools, hay, and concentrated feed.
In the recreational area of a biospace people may walk around, watch the horses, and just enjoy themselves. Taking care of surrounding plants, trees, and walkways, as well as providing benches, hammocks, and viewing areas would also be beneficial.
While creating a biospace in our HorseSense centre we based our experience on development programmes in other stables, the biospaces of our friends, Berenika Bratny from Kraina Wolnych Koni, Joanna Borysiewicz-Gardeła from Pracownia Szkoleniowa HorseFeedback, and Karin and Gerhard Krebs from HorseDream. We drew inspiration from ways in which horse spaces were created in places like Equicentral System in Australia, EquiHabitat in Belgium, HIT Aktivestall Offenstallkonzepte, both in Germany.
HorseSense is also a professional school for facilitators of the horse-assisted developmental programs. Our 12-year experience and national and international accreditations enable us to provide complex training for the next generations of facilitators. We are an accredited center of European Association for Horse Assisted Education and Horse Dream network.
School for facilitators is a long-term (5 weeks) development program. Between weekend-long workshops, every facilitator has to prepare and run a 6-hour long workshop with horses for clients.
It is a unique program with a holistic approach.

HORSE AS A TRAINER
On facilitation of development programs with horses and lessons from horse-trainers
A horse who is a trainer is a horse whom was given the ability to influence people. To influence the way people think and live. Agata Wiatrowska has been conducting development programs with horses for years. In this space horses reveal their long-known abilities: their extraordinary sensitivity to communication and the slightest changes in approach, ability to forgive, to balance energy or contact.
Agata Wiatrowska introduced this method to Polish public in 2006 and since then she continues to discover secrets of mentors based all around the world: Karin and Gerhard Krebs from Germany, David Harris from the United Kingdom, June Guenter from the USA, Jackie and Herb Stevennson from the USA, Klaus Ferdinand Hempfling from Denmark. She directed programs in tens of different places in Poland as well as around the world with help of hundreds of horses. She co-creates the European Association for Horse Assisted Education and the HorseDream chain.
During the first years of her work, programs went through constant transformations related to understanding her own thoughts but also related to understanding the exact role of horses in development.
This book is a collection of her experiences. "In first chapters,
I introduce readers to the role of horses and what does it mean to be a horse trainer. Next chapters take the reader on a journey to self-connection through contact with a horse and describe lessons from horse-trainers experienced by previous participants. The last part describes the role of a facilitator who creates development space for people in which horses are trainers."
Like Agata, I am a seasoned consultant and Equine Assisted Education practitioner. And I can be hard to impress. Upon first meeting Agata, I found her combination of humility, power and passion intoxicating. She cares deeply about her clients, her horses and her ‘cause’—working tirelessly to help people remove their masks, find the courage to face their own truths, and show up with integrity. In reading through the chapters of “Horse as Trainer”, I felt the depth of her knowledge and experience so keenly that it led me to question my own approach to working with horses. The examples she shares so vividly make crystal clear her key points. The research she has done to validate the work is thorough, and the results are inarguable. There are many people out there who go through the motions of conducting horse assisted education sessions, but few are able to attain her level of expertise. Anyone engaged in this work should make it their business to read this book, and if the opportunity arises, meet her face to face!
